The 15th annual Multicultural Festival at Manatee Technical Institute was well attended and included dancers from India and Mexico, live music, food, a free health screening with activities for children sponsored by Tropicana, and many organizations with education, information, and opportunities to volunteer. The festival goal was to support the creation of a new community radio station to be housed at Manatee Tech and dedicated to educate, inform and represent the Hispanic community. The Farmworker Career Development Program is grateful to the many sponsors who made the event possible, including the Gulf Coast Latin Chamber of Commerce, Manatee County Rural Health Services, Unidos Now, Revista Variedades, El Mensaje Latino, and La Guia. If you missed it, look for the Festival on METV next month!
