9/11 blood drive at MTC exceeds goals

The 9/11 Commemorative Blood Drive at Manatee Technical College exceeded expectations. “We had a goal of 75 donors. We exceeded that goal with 90 donors,” said Kelly Ewing, blood drive organizer at MTC.

Alyssa Holst, Medical Administrative students at Manatee Tech, donated blood and said, “This is my birthday, and it’s also 9/11. I try every 9/11 to donate blood. It’s a great thing to do.”
“MTC has a lot of students who are Veterans,” said Cassie Vassallo, community relations coordinator for One Blood. “We always have a good turnout at MTC.”
MTC held the blood drive at their main campus on State Road 70 on September 10 and 11.
