Barbering Manatee Technical College


Program Content: The Barbering program prepares students for employment as licensed barbers. Instruction includes theory and practical experience with guest artists and an active clinic. Course content includes safety, salon management, anatomy, bacteriology, hair relaxers, shaping and styling, hair and skin disorders, scalp and hair treatments, lash and brow tint, hair removal, permanent waves, hair coloring and lightening, wigs and decontamination. The course also covers State Board Requirements and Florida law.
