Electrician - Manatee Technical College

Career DescriptionThe purpose of this Electricity program is to prepare students for employment or advanced training in a variety of electrical industries. The program covers the use of tools, Ohms Law, blueprint reading, NEC (National Electric Code), DC and AC, circuits, basic safety, construction site etiquette, conduit bending, residential and light commercial “rough-in/trim-out” of wiring.

Note: The Basic Skills Assessment must be taken within 6 weeks of your admit date unless exemption criteria have been documented per State Statute.

Length of Program: Day: 1500 hours – approximately 12 months full-time to complete. Evening: approximately 24 months part-time evening to complete.
Dual Enrollment Available: No
Industry Certification: Program graduates are prepared to earn the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certification.
Articulation: May be available towards credits at Florida public colleges/universities. Speak with a Career Counselor for more information.
