Program Content:

MTC’s PCT program is an extension of our Nursing Assistant program.
This program includes instruction of Phlebotomy and EKG with the opportunity to earn certifications for both.

Prerequisites:
*PERT Exam (No minimum score required. Scores are factored into your overall application ranking so you are encouraged to do your best. https://manateetech.edu/testing

Certification/Licensure:
Graduates are prepared to earn the Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Phlebotomy and EKG.

CTSO
SkillsUSA and/or HOSA are the approved co-curricular career and technical student organizations which provide activities for students as an integral part of the instruction by providing leadership training and reinforcing specific career and technical skills.

Articulation:
Career and Technical credit shall be awarded to the student on a transcript in accordance with Section 1001.44(3) (b), F

REQUIRED ON THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS
Uniforms: Teal scrub pants and tops will be worn each day. Scrub sets will have MTC program embroidery done by The Scrub Club: 8527 SR 70 East, Bradenton, FL 34202 (941) 755-9669. https://thescrubclub.com/
White long sleeve tops can be worn under uniform tops, no other colors. A matching Teal Uniform Warm-Up Jacket may be worn. Non-uniform jackets may not be worn over uniforms. Uniforms must fit well and be wrinkle free. Specific details will be provided on the first day of class.

Shoes: Solid white leather duty shoes are to be worn. Athletic shoes which are solid white and of sturdy non-porous and non-mesh material may be worn. Shoes must be closed toe and closed heel and kept clean. White socks only.
Students must also have a watch with second hand, no smart watches.
