Community invited, Manatee Technical College, Open House, 10/23

(Bradenton, FL—October 16, 2018)  Manatee Technical College is inviting the community to open houses at its three campuses from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23.

One of the highlights of the open house at the Main Campus will be demonstrations of the newly patented air conditioning system simulator by inventor and HVAC instructor Dr. Michael Afanasiev.

Also at the Main Campus, visitors will see student-created videos in Digital Video Technology (one of which was a finalist in an international single-take film challenge), a portfolio show in Digital Design Technology, simulated network labs in Network Support Services, website demonstrations in Web Development, and engineering and robotics demonstrations in Advanced Manufacturing.  Nail students will even polish visitors’ nails.  Financial aid and career counselors will also be available.

The EMT/Paramedic programs will be a big highlight at the East Campus with Anatomage demonstrations and a visit from Bayflite.  The helicopter will be landing around 6 p.m. (weather permitting) and taking off around 8 p.m. The Anatomage is an 8-foot digitized cadaver table used to teach anatomy.  East Campus visitors will also see the Firefighter students in action.

The West Campus will be open to talk with visitors about Adult General Education, including English for speakers of other languages and GED® preparation.

“Instructors from all of our 50 programs will be onsite to welcome our community and show them how MTC is making a difference in students’ lives and for our local workforce,” said MTC director Dr. Valerie Viands.  “We want the community to see all that MTC has to offer.”
