5 MTC students medal in HOSA Regionals

(Bradenton, FL—March 24, 2021) Five Manatee Technical College East Campus students medaled in the 2021 HOSA Future Healthcare Professionals Regionals. Competitions were held virtually this year.
Winning the gold were Tarryn Lund in Pharmacy Science, Jayshonda Coleman in Dental Terminology, Zadock Sturgis in Pharmacology, and Angelina Hale in Dental Science. Jasmine Lambar took home a silver medal in Pharmacology.
All five students qualified to compete in the HOSA State competitions, which were also held virtually this year one week before spring break. The results from the Florida competition will be released in early to mid-April.
Lund, Sturgis, and Lambar are students in the Pharmacy Technician program at MTC. Coleman and Hale are students in the Dental Assisting Technology and Management program. Both programs are Applied Technology Diploma programs, and both prepare students for national certification.
No decision has been made yet as to whether the National competition will be held virtually or in person.
