High School Firefighter graduation 10 a.m. Sat. 8/13

The Fire Science Academy of Manatee Technical College will graduate High School Fire Fighter class number 6 at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2016, in Wagner Auditorium at MTC’s Main Campus.

These students were dual-enrolled high-school students who completed Fire Fighter 1, qualifying them as Florida Volunteer Firefighters. Upon graduation, they enrolled as adults in the Firefighter 2 program, which they will complete this Thursday, August 11.

They will be Florida Certified Firefighters upon successful completion of the state certification exam, which they will take on August 17. All 8 students have applied for the next EMT program which will allow them to apply for State and National certification. Holding both State of Florida EMT and Firefighter 2 certifications will allow them to be considered for full-time employment in Florida.

Relay for Life becomes personal for PCT students
