Manatee Technical College students advance to nationals

Three Manatee Technical College students will advance to HOSA national competition after placing in the top three of their events at the state competition for future health professionals.

Ajay Jadeja, Dental Assisting Student, placed first in Dental Terminology; Megan Kotkowski, Optometric Assisting Student, placed first in Prepared Speaking; and Michael Perales, Pharmacy Technician Student, placed third in Medical Math.

 

The MTC students have earned the honor to represent the state of Florida at the 38th Annual National HOSA Leadership Conference in June 2015 in Anaheim, California.

 

The HOSA Future Health Professionals State Leadership Conference was held March 26-29, 2015, in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.  The students were accompanied by MTC HOSA advisor and optometric assisting instructor Loren Hutchison.

 

HOSA is a national career and technical student organization whose mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.  Since its inception in 1976, HOSA has grown to over 165,000 members and approximately 3,600 secondary and postsecondary/collegiate chapters, of which one is at Manatee Technical College.
