MTC students win gold and silver at HOSA International

(Bradenton, FL—July 3, 2018)   Two Manatee Technical College students won gold and silver at the HOSA Future Healthcare Professionals International Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas, June 27-July 1, 2018.  Another two students placed in the top ten in the nation.

 

Hannah Pick won took first place in Dental Terminology.  Tram Nguyen took second place in the Knowledge Test for Pharmacology.

 

Pick and Nguyen earned the right to represent Florida at the international conference when they achieved first in the state in their respective contests at the Florida HOSA Leadership Conference in April.

 

Surviving two highly competitive rounds of competition, two other MTC dental assisting students, Sena Henandez and Tania Yanez, were recognized at the international competition as a Top Ten Finalist Team for their Health Career Display.

 

HOSA is an international student organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.  HOSA’s mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.  HOSA provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition for high school and college students enrolled in health science education or with interests in pursuing careers in health professions.
