Manatee Technical College Programs

Manatee Technical College offers training for careers in 13 of the 15 in-demand industries requiring technical certification in Sarasota and Manatee counties. Many local companies and organizations count on MTC to meet their demands for a skilled workforce and attract new businesses to our area. We offer quality training, certifications, ESOL, GED training and testing, and continuing education for those already in the workplace. 

Manatee Technical College is accredited by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education (COE). This accreditation is recognized as a nationally honored seal of excellence in occupational education and denotes honesty and integrity.

Our college offers two distinct types of educational opportunities:

  •  Technical Certificate Programs – comprehensive, career-focused programs leading to workforce credentials in areas such as Nursing, Dental, Massage, Law Enforcement, Patient Care Technician, and Pharmacy Technician.
  • Continuing Education Courses – short-term, non-program courses designed for skill enhancement, licensure renewal, or professional development, including IV Therapy, Phlebotomy, and CPR.

Continuing Education courses are not part of our technical programs.
These courses are short-term, stand-alone classes intended for continuing professional education or certification and do not result in program completion or occupational certificates. Continuing Education Classes are not COE accredited.

Learn English

The English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program is designed to assist English language learners in improving reading, writing, speaking, listening, and comprehension skills in English and mathematics.

GED®

GED® Preparation classes are for adults who are 16 years old or older, who are not enrolled in high school, and who wish to improve their ability to pass the GED test. Manatee Technical College is the official GED® Testing Center.

Continuing education programs are designed for workers to stay current with the latest developments, skills, and new technologies required for their fields.

Project EDGE

Project Empower Develop Grow Educate (EDGE) is a postsecondary non-degree-seeking transitional program designed for students with intellectual disabilities. Project EDGE connects students to technical college life, potential industry certifications, and employment opportunities.

Community Training Center/CPR Training

Providing training for healthcare providers: BLS, ACLS and PALS, as well as First Aid and/or CPR AED training for schools, business, and more.

Hybrid Programs

Hybrid programs include essential in-person lab work, clinical training, and hands-on experience. These programs offer flexibility while ensuring high-quality practical skills.

Registered Apprenticeship

We offer structured training that combines practical on-the-job experience with classroom instruction. Gain valuable real-world trade skills!
