Project Empower Develop Grow Educate (EDGE)
Program Details

Dear Prospective Student,

Thank you for your interest in Manatee Technical College’s Project Empower • Develop • Grow • Educate (EDGE). We are excited to share this opportunity with you. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive educational experience that supports a successful transition into employment or continued training.

Project EDGE is a postsecondary, non–degree-seeking transition program designed for students with intellectual disabilities. The program offers hands-on learning, opportunities to earn industry certifications, and meaningful engagement in technical college life. Through this experience, students develop the skills needed to move into a program on Manatee Technical College’s main campus or directly into the workforce.

Project EDGE was recently featured on Spectrum News for its impact on student independence. The report highlights how this program empowers students to master professional skills, from resume building to customer service. With a 100% success rate for inaugural graduates, we are proud to continue fostering employment and self-sufficiency in our community.
