Dental Assisting Students Invite Community to Open House at MTI on March 5
(Bradenton, FL—February 26, 2014) The Manatee Technical Institute Student Chapter of the American Dental Assistants Association invites the community to join them at the MTI East Campus for an open house on March 5 from 9 to 11 a.m. to celebrate Dental Assistants Recognition Week. Visitors will be able to tour the teaching labs and observe students demonstrating many of the tasks and procedures dental assistants normally perform in the dental office.
Dental Assistants Recognition Week, scheduled for March 2–8, 2014, is a tribute to the commitment and dedication that dental assistants exhibit throughout the year. The open house will be at the MTI East Campus Medical & Dental Building at 5520 Lakewood Ranch Boulevard on Wednesday, March 5 from 9 to 11 a.m. The public is invited.
“Dental Assisting continues to diversify and expand,” says Kim Bland, Dental Assisting Program Director at MTI. “Whether working chair-side with the dentist, taking X–rays or managing the business office, teaching or working in insurance or sales, dental assistants are vital to the success of the dental practice.”
Dental Assisting: Embracing the Changes of the Profession is the theme for the 37th annual Recognition Week, which is sponsored in part by the American Dental Assistants Association and the American Dental Association. The ADAA is committed to promoting quality dental health care to the public and enhancing the public image and stature of the dental assisting profession.
MTI’s Dental Assisting Technology and Management program is a one-year program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and the Florida State Board of Dentistry. Students are prepared to take the Dental Assisting National Board exam to earn the credential of Certified Dental Assistant.
