Job Title or Skills Set Required

SCENIC SHOP ASSISTANT ELECTRICIAN
This position will be responsible in conjunction with the Lead Electrician for addressing a variety of low voltage and AC/DC power needs associated with the electronic and animatronic elements of designing, fabricating, and maintenance of show props and stage sets for touring productions. Success will be gauged by quality of work and meeting project timelines.
Essential Functions:
Stay current on new technology and industry concepts with a goal of implementing electrical systems in innovative ways for props and stage sets that are used in touring productions.
Responsible for wiring and installation of electrical components used in scenic elements.
Will troubleshoot existing electrical circuits as well as develop upgrades to existing systems.
Maintenance and refurb of electrical motors and equipment.
Qualifications:
1. Low voltage experience required.
2. Experience in fields of animatronics, DC power propulsion, and show action equipment.
3. Knowledge of complex mechanical systems such as hydraulics, pneumatics, and electric motors preferred.
Skills & Abilities
1. Knowledge of DMX control systems and NEC technology.
2. Must be able to work independently and in diverse team environments.
3. Be a self-starter and willing to learn and grow in an ever-changing work environment.
4. Ability to translate creative ideas into workable design solutions for the electrical needs associated with fabricating scenic elements.
5. Good Knowledge of basic hand tools.
