Responsibilities:
• Perform verification tests on new and existing nextGenTV receivers, maintaining a log of all tests performed. This includes verification of firmware updates as they become available.
• Configure and record test streams in the lab for local playback of various test scenarios.
• Maintain a library of test streams, carefully documenting configurations.
• Support the deployment of NextGen TV:
o Verify station configuration and device interoperability through the use of packet captures remodulated in the lab.
Skills required:
• Ability to work independently, following documented processes and procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communications.
• Basic understanding of IP networking (TCP, UDP, Multicast).
Desirable, but not required:
• Working knowledge of broadcast media distribution, including encoding and decoding.
• Familiarity with virtual machines (VMWare ESXI preferred)
• Familiarity with ATSC 3.0 Next Generation TV standards
• Experience with
o DASH (Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP)
o WireShark
o Media encoders
o Relevant professional tools:
 Triveni StreamScope, Sencore ARD 3000, Airwavz TVXplorer
