Automotive Lube Technician - Essential Duties
Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
Sells lubrication, safety inspection and other related services.
Communicates to advisor within 10-15 mins of the MPVI.
Drains oil from crankcase and refills with required amount of oil.
Replaces oil and air filters.
Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replaces or replenishes as necessary.
Check tire pressure, and adds air if needed, puts tires on and off.
Change tires as repair orders request. Torque the tires tight before releasing vehicle back to the customer. Requires secondary verification by team leader
Lubricates moving parts with specified lubricants.
Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
Documents all work performed on the repair order.
Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by service manager.
Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
Keeps shop/your personal area neat and clean, clean your area before you leave for the night.
Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.
Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
Complete and sign off on all listed items from repair order.
Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
Document Vin numbers
Communicates details with the service advisor
Other tasks as assigned.
Automotive Lube Technician - Qualifications

Automotive Lube Technician - Education and/or Experience
Must pass drug/background check and have a clean criminal record
Must have high school diploma or GED be at least 18 years of age or older.
Must have at least 1 year of hands on experience change oil, working with tires, replacing or topping off fluids in vehicle.
Must have valid and active (not suspended) driver’s license with limited violations on the license
Automotive Lube Technician - Language Skills
Ability to read, speak fluently, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
Ability to Read and Interpret Documents in English: Such as Safety Rules, Operating and Maintenance Instructions and Procedure Manuals. Ability to Write Routine Reports and Correspondence. Ability to Speak English fluently before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Automotive Lube Technician - Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
Ability numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Automotive Lube Technician - Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Automotive Lube Technician - Physical Demands
Must be able to lift, carry, and/or move at least 50lbs. Be able to stand for long periods of time, be able to reach above the head. Must have active use of hands, arms, legs for bending, stooping, reaching under and above, be able to hear and see to perform job duties. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
