Sherman’s Auto Repair—voted Sarasota’s Best Auto Repair Shop 5 years in a row—is seeking a dependable, experienced, and high-performing Auto Technician. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in quality work, has strong diagnostic abilities, and is looking to grow with a respected, family owned, community-driven shop.

Responsibilities:

Perform advanced automotive diagnostics to accurately identify mechanical and electrical issues
Conduct repairs and maintenance in line with manufacturer specifications
Complete routine service tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and safety checks
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, wiring issues, and onboard diagnostics
Handle engine repairs, including diesel engines, with precision and efficiency
Use power tools, diagnostic equipment, and fabrication tools to complete repairs safely and effectively
Deliver excellent customer service by clearly explaining diagnoses, repairs, and recommendations to customers in a professional and approachable manner
Maintain accurate work documentation and uphold shop cleanliness and safety standards
Experience:
– Proven experience as an Automotive Technician or similar role
– Strong knowledge of automotive repair techniques and procedures
– Proficient in diagnosing and repairing automotive electrical systems
– Familiarity with schematics and technical drawings
– Experience working with power tools and equipment
– Knowledge of diesel engine repair is a plus

Requirements:

– Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
– ASE certification is preferred but not required
– Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
