• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in heavy equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake repairs, and fluid checks.
• Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA and port regulations
• Maintain accurate service and repair records
• Operate diagnostic tools and repair equipment
• Collaborate with operators and supervisors to identify and resolve mechanical issues promptly.
• Assist in emergency breakdown repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
• Keep work areas clean and organized while following proper safety procedures.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, preferably in a port, construction, or industrial setting.
• High school diploma or GED required, technical certification in diesel or heavy equipment mechanics preferred
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software and mechanical tools.
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
• Must have a valid driver's license
