Drone Builder
Job Summary
The Drone Builder will be responsible for assembling, configuring, and testing drones to meet performance, quality, and safety standards. This role requires strong technical knowledge of drone components, electronics, and flight systems, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and optimize builds for reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Separate counting incoming part organizes to feed on the build line
• 3D SD cart print files from Memory card product specifications for building of the drone. Preventive maintenance of
• Electronic knowledge
• Soldering hand soldering experience.
• Assemble drones (analog and digital video systems, multirotors, or FPV systems) from parts, including frames, motors, electronic speed controllers (ESCs), flight controllers, radio transmitter, receiver protocols, and power distribution systems.
• Solder, wire, and install electronic components with precision.
• Hand assembly.
• Install and configure flight control software and firmware configuration (e.g., Betaflight, ArduPilot, PX4).
• Calibrate sensors, gimbals, and radio transmitters/receivers.
• Conduct bench testing to ensure accuracy configuration, and general working order compliance with specifications of the model.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and software-related issues.
• Maintain accurate build documentation, quality control, and part inventories.
• Collaborate with Research and Development team engineering and R&D teams on custom drone builds and prototypes.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry standards during assembly and testing. Electricity, chemical batteries, handling the product
Qualifications
• Proven experience in drone building, robotics, or electronics assembly.
• Proficiency in soldering and handling small electronic components.
• Strong understanding of flight controllers, ESCs, RC systems, GPS modules, and telemetry systems. Electrical component diagram, modeling software, configuration software
• Familiarity with LiPo batteries, charging, and power management safety.
• Experience using flight configuration software (Betaflight, INAV, ArduPilot, PX4).
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and assembly instructions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with 3D printing.
• Knowledge of RF systems and antenna optimization.
• Familiarity with FPV (First Person View) drone systems.
• Background in mechanical or electrical engineering, robotics, or related technical fields.
• Pull things apart and put them back together.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to sit, stand, and move between workstations for extended periods of time.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for assembling small components and wiring.
• Ability to use hand tools, soldering equipment, and precision instruments safely and effectively.
• Visual acuity to read small parts, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move materials, tools, or equipment weighing up to 25–30 lbs.
• Comfort working in a workshop or manufacturing environment may involve moderate noise and use of safety equipment (e.g., safety glasses, gloves).
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks requiring focus and attention to detail.
