Job Summary
• Under the direction of a Service Management Team, the Installer will perform Installation of marine electronics systems on board primarily recreational vessels between 15’ and 150’, to include meetings with clients, mounting equipment, running cables, making connections, systems programming, perform dockside checkout, sea trials and client training.
Other Duties & Responsibilities
• Prepare system interface diagrams of electronic equipment packages, using provided software.
• Coordinate with purchasing for inventory of installation materials and supplies.
• Participate in Boat Shows / Customer Training Functions / Marketing Events.
• Collaborate with colleagues for projects as needed.
Knowledge & Skills
• NMEA Industry Certifications - MEI, Advanced MEI, NMEA2000, Advanced NMEA2000.
• ABYC Electrical Certification & Marine Corrosion Certification, preferred.
• High-level competency in DC & AC Electrical Systems.
• Competency in hydraulics and use of hydraulic fittings (for autopilots, steering & desalination).
• Mid-level competency in the use of computers for diagnostic purposes (training on specific programs will be provided).
• Sound knowledge of computer networks.
• Technology literate (job involves marine specific electronic equipment set up/programming - training will be provided).
• Strong skills in the use and operation of hand and power tools.
• Minor carpentry skills are a plus.
• Boating experience and knowledge of boating terms (power and sail).
• Strong office and team communication skills (verbal, electronic and written).
• Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel, Visio) Adobe Acrobat (Other CAD Skills, a plus).
Fiscal Responsibilities
• Legible preparation of daily job logs and reports, to include time and materials used.
• Billable Hour Management – Meet / Exceed Goals.
Extent of Public Contact
• Significant interaction with boat owners, vendors and co-workers.
Physical Demands
• Lifting, bending, stretching, climbing, hoisting (typically between 20 and 70 pounds)
• Applicants must be able to swim, access small crawl spaces, have no fear of height and not subject to seasickness.
