Job Description:
Local manufacturing workshop is looking for a tech-savvy student, hobbyist, or maker to assist with the final low-voltage assembly and firmware flashing of a custom 5-channel automated machinery console. All structural frames, heavy metal box enclosures, linear guide slides, and power supplies are already mounted to a heavy steel backbone plate.
Tasks Include:
- Wiring low-voltage logic lines between an Arduino Uno R3 and industrial TB6600/DM860T stepper motor drivers.
- Connecting SPI data lines to onboard digital potentiometer chips (MCP41010).
- Installing Arduino IDE on a workshop laptop and uploading pre-written Python/C++ scripts to microcontrollers.
- Conducting safe workbench testing to verify stepper motor step counts and calibration limits.
Requirements:
- Basic experience with Arduino/microcontroller programming and the Arduino IDE environment.
- Ability to read straightforward point-to-point electrical schematic wiring maps.
- Comfortable working alongside the shop owner and an off-site senior engineering team via text/chat interface.
