Express Employment is partnering with a company in East Tampa for a Diesel Mechanic/ Welder responsible for preventive maintenance, repairs, and fabrication work to keep fleet vehicles and equipment operating safely and efficiently. The role works closely with drivers and terminal management.
Key Duties
Perform maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and terminal equipment.
Develop and follow preventive maintenance schedules.
Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs.
Perform welding and fabrication as needed.
Maintain parts inventory and order replacement components.
Ensure equipment remains in safe operating condition.
Complete additional maintenance-related duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Proven mechanical experience.
Experience in diesel mechanics, welding, and fabrication.
Basic computer skills.
Stable work history.
Associate degree or trade certification preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to work outdoors in Florida heat, humidity, and varying weather conditions.
Frequent bending, reaching, climbing, and manual labor.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
