Launch Your Career in Structural Engineering
We are a growing structural engineering firm in Sarasota seeking a motivated Entry-Level Structural Drafter to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate of a technical school, vocational program, or community college with training in AutoCAD and/or Revit who is looking to build a long-term career in structural engineering.
You will work alongside experienced structural engineers and designers to prepare construction documents for a variety of residential and commercial projects throughout Florida.
What You'll Do
Prepare structural drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
Assist in producing permit and construction documents.
Create foundation, framing, and structural detail drawings.
Revise drawings based on engineer and client comments.
Coordinate drawings with architects and other consultants.
Learn Florida building codes and structural drafting standards.
Participate in a collaborative team environment focused on quality and continuous learning.
Qualifications
Graduate of a Technical School, Trade School, or Associate Degree program in Drafting, CAD Technology, Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
Proficiency in AutoCAD required.
Experience with Revit is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to read construction drawings.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Coursework or internship related to structural or architectural drafting.
Knowledge of residential or commercial construction.
Familiarity with wood, concrete, masonry, or steel construction.
Basic understanding of structural plans and details.
