Accounting Operations

Career Description: The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment. They will learn double-entry accounting principles; methods of recording business transactions; preparation and analysis of various documents and financial statements; payroll records and tax forms; accounting control systems; account and transaction analysis; inventory methods; the aging process; depreciation; and the application of accounting principles to various entities. Students learn both manual and computerized accounting systems.

Microsoft Office software packages are used in this program and QuickBooks Certification exam with online practice.

Note: The Basic Skills Assessment must be taken within 6 weeks of your admit date unless exemption criteria have been documented per State Statute.

Length of Program: 900 hours – approximately 7 months full time to complete.
