BRADENTON — Back in January, Jamie Gregorich, a veteran of Longboat Key’s prestigious Euphemia Haye Restaurant and the popular “Hell’s Kitchen” TV competition show, became the lead instructor of the Culinary Arts Department at Manatee Technical Institute.

On Thursday, she’ll talk about her rise in the culinary world and her new job at a free and informal discussion and at MTI.

It’s the second installment of an occasional series called “Meet the Instructor,” aimed at introducing MTI program and faculty to the community.

Gregorich, who graduated from MTI and has been an instructor there for several years, said she’s loving her job as lead instructor.

“It’s a rewarding job that makes it easy to come into work every day,” she said. “It really isn’t even work. I love cooking, and I love being able to pass on my love of cooking to the students.”

Becoming the lead instructor has also allowed her to make some changes in the program, including making it more student-focused, she said.

This installment of the “Meet the Instructor” series begins at 7 p.m. in the Wagner Auditorium at MTI, 6305 State Road 70 E., Bradenton. It should go till about 8 or 8:30. For more information, contact Maura Howl at 941-751-7900, ext. 1020, or email howlmc@manateeschools.net.
