(Fall 2025)  Manatee Technical College welcomes Dr. Jodi Kirk as its new director.  Dr. Kirk holds a Doctorate in Business Administration with a concentration in Management and a Director of Career and Technical Education Certificate from the University of Central Florida. Her academic foundation is matched by extensive experience in both secondary and post-secondary education, as well as corporate leadership.

“I’m honored to be the new director of Manatee Technical College,”
said Kirk.  “MTC stands out as a leader in technical education.  Its commitment to hands-on learning, workforce development, and student success aligns perfectly with my passion for personalized, industry-relevant education.”

Prior to coming to the School District of Manatee County, Dr. Kirk served as Assistant Director at Pinellas Technical College, where she led initiatives in accreditation, dual enrollment, apprenticeships, and strategic program development.  Dr. Kirk’s career also includes roles as a high school instructor, adjunct professor, instructional staff developer, and technology coordinator.  Her corporate experience includes supervisory and buyer roles at Mitsubishi International Food Ingredients, American Freight, and Healthy Pets.

Her vision for MTC is rooted in collaboration, continuous improvement, and expanding opportunities for students and the community.  “It’s an honor to follow in the footsteps of Doug Wagner, whose leadership was inspiring to so many,” said Kirk.  “I look forward to a thoughtful transition and collaborating with faculty, staff, students, and partners to continue building a future-ready institution that empowers learners and strengthens our region.”    Wagner retired in September.  Kirk is the ninth director to lead Manatee Tech (since 1963).
