MTC Dental Assisting students will provide pediatric teeth polishing, fluoride treatments, radiographs, and oral health screening. School children enrolled in the School District of Manatee County Migrant Program are eligible.

The project is a joint effort of Manatee Technical College and the School District of Manatee County Nurses and Migrant Program. It is similar to the We Care Project in that it offers dental services to schoolchildren in need. It is different in that the focus is on migrant children. Both projects rely on local dentists and hygienists performing their work pro bono. Tropicana will provide transportation and lunch to the migrant children and is sponsoring the event.

The MTC Farmworker Career Development Program, School District of Manatee County, is celebrating 50 years of serving Manatee and Sarasota counties. The Farmworker Program provides educational and supportive services to chronically unemployed and underemployed farmworkers to obtain the career-related education needed to prepare them to enter or advance in the workforce and achieve economic stability.
