MTC Takes Home 50 Medals!
Manatee Technical College proudly celebrates the incredible achievements of our Career and Technical Education students at the 2025 Florida State Leadership and Skills Conference and Competition, held in Jacksonville, FL, from April 28th to May 1st This prestigious event brought together talented students from across the state to showcase their mastery of real-world skills, embodying this year’s powerful theme: “Fueling the Future”.
Our MTC students demonstrated exceptional dedication, expertise, and professionalism as they competed in various challenging events. This page is your window into the excitement and accomplishments of the competition to learn more about how Manatee Technical College students swept up 25 gold medals, 15 silver medals, and 10 bronze medals. The gold medalists earned the right to compete in the SkillsUSA National Championships in Atlanta in June.
Of the 50 medalists, 42 were in the college division, and eight were in the high-school division.
Here are a few MTC program highlights in the FL-SkillsUSA college division:
- Advanced Manufacturing –MTC team placed first in the State (2nd year running) in Additive Manufacturing in both college and in the high school and also first (2nd year running) in Occupational Health and Safety and Mechatronics.
- Building Construction- The MTC team placed first in the state in Cabinetmaking.
- Digital Video—MTC team swept first in both Video News Production and Video Production (2nd year running).
- Welding – took first and second in Welding Sculpture.
- Facials Specialty – took first and third in Esthetics.
