The course is Trust Funded and approved for Mandatory Retraining Only.

Goal:
To prepare an instructor student to obtain Commission certification as a High-
Liability Instructor in Defensive Tactics and instruct the Criminal Justice Defensive
Tactics Course in the Florida Basic Recruit Training Program.

Registration:
Limited to 16 officers. To register, officers should contact their training
sections. The agency training section will register the officer with the Academy. The
Academy does not accept registrations from individuals. Form 15A’s are required.

Proper dress required:
Comfortable attire that will support duty belt ie., BDU or cargo
type pants. No shorts, T-shirts, duty belts, firearms or ammo or thigh holsters.
